As I stand on the scales with yet another 0.2-pound weight loss following a one-week break of weigh-ins, worried about how I would explain more lack of progress I sit here in front of my computer thinking that frankly, it all seems immaterial.
Coronavirus is taking over the thoughts of the world, and snatching away the lives of the vulnerable too soon. This virus is bigger than us, and there’s a sense so much is out of our control. These levels of isolation, job losses, rationing, travel bans and the like, are nothing like many of us have experienced in our lifetime. ?
I’m not going to sit here and say that I have given up on weight loss, far from it. I’m still very much fighting my inner demons. I don’t want to give up on myself, which is why you see a small loss and not a massive gain. And, I WILL continue to fight. ?
But, this unprecedented crisis has made me question my thought process once again. ?
At a time when many are fighting for their lives, why do I continue to abuse and neglect mine? Why do I keep saying I’ll do something and then not do it? Any of the answers I can give seem so selfish amid all this chaos. ?
So, I’ve made a decision to turn my attention away from weight loss for now (not forever) to concentrate on family, friends and self-care. ❤️
And maybe, just maybe, it’ll take the pressure off the weekly weigh-in post and I’ll start losing weight naturally. We can only hope! ?
