WEEK SIX WEIGH-IN RESULTS
17TH FEBRUARY 2020
Hey Hey! So, this week I’m pleased to be back moving in the right direction with a 1.2-pound weight loss. Not quite sure how I managed it quite honestly. I’ve been struggling to focus on eating 100% real food. That being said, I’ve certainly been more mindful this week than I was last week.
I feel this weeks entry is, once again, going to be short and sweet because there’s not much to report. It’s been a week of hardcore decorating, and now it’s finally done, I’m eager to get back on track. Although, that in itself is worth a moment of reflection. Why, was it so hard to focus on eating healthy food when I was decorating?
STRUGGLING TO FOCUS ON WEIGHT LOSS
I seem to be incapable of losing weight and focusing on cooking real food when other things are going on in my life. Whether it be the decorating project, I’ve been working on over the past ten days, whether it be an upcoming event or a busy work period. I have laser-focus on the thing at hand, and everything else goes out the window.
From eating well to a good skincare routine to keeping up with the housework, I struggle to focus on more than one thing at a time.
What is that? Excuses? Overwhelm? Lack of planning?
It’s certainly food for thought and something to discuss in my next therapy session on Tuesday.
QUICK HEALTH UPDATE
Following the test results I received from my Thriva home blood test, I went to visit my doctor last week. If you can remember from my week three weigh-in, the advice from Thriva was to go and see my GP to discuss the abnormal results for my cholesterol and liver.
The outcome is that the doctor wants to do more blood tests and some in-depth testing on my liver. I’m scheduled for blood tests at the end of the month. So, I’m going to try and put that to the back of my mind until then. There’s no point in worrying until there’s something to worry about, a wise man once told me!
MY REAL FOOD RECIPE OF THE WEEK
This week I knocked up my Healthy Spaghetti Carbonara a couple of times because it is just so quick and easy to prepare. It saved me from ordering a takeaway when that’s all I wanted to do. It’s a dish that feels indulgent and a little naughty, but you don’t need to feel guilty because it uses nutritious real food ingredients. It’s the ultimate comfort food.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post. Please leave a note if you’re on a journey of your own, I’d love to hear from you. Any advice and tips are welcome!
